Vizocom, a leading global IT and Communications company is actively participating and exhibiting in 36th Session of the Working Group for Emergency Telecommunications (WGET) – ICT Humanitarian Innovation Forum to take place at the Jumeirah Emirates Tower in Dubai, UAE.

WGET is one of the largest forums, bringing together national governments, United Nations organizations, NGOs, inter-governmental organizations, the private sector, and academia with shared interests related to regulatory, operational and technical aspects of ICT in disaster relief.

The two-day event on the 29th and 30th of April, promotes innovation and partnerships within the humanitarian relief and information technology arenas. The forum also features a two day program of presentations with an opening address from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

The forum seeks to increase the effectiveness of its participants related to regulatory, operational and technical aspects of telecommunications for disaster relief.

Established in 1996, The Working Group for Emergency Telecommunications (WGET) is a technical forum promoting collaboration on interagency telecommunications issues an integrated with the UN Interagency Standing Committee (IASC) system of working groups supporting humanitarian action, specifically providing support to the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC).
